The new Tudor Pelagos FXD watch comes from a long lineage of diving watches issued to the US Navy. The US Navy issued Tudor diving watches for decades starting in the late 1950s. The watches were famously used by the SEAL teams from their commissioning in 1962 until the late 1980s. The issued Tudor Submariner watches were used in teaching the basics of scuba diving and in aiding underwater submarine maintenance.
