Bristol Fashion Week SS17: Get the Rock Chick look with Charlotte Tilbury

Bristol Fashion Week SS17: Get the Rock Chick look with Charlotte Tilbury

The Rock Chick

“She’s the coolest girl around: the Rock Chick mesmerises with sultry, smoky eyes, nude-toned lips and tousled hair. All worn with an air of nonchalance for that enviable, “I’m not trying” glamour.”

Add a cool edge to any outfit with this look, perfect for a night out! Here’s how to recreate this iconic catwalk look at home:

1 Always prepare your skin with Charlotte’s Magic Cream moisturiser, massaging into your skin for a hydrated, smooth complexion. Then apply Wonderglow face primer for added luminosity. You can mix Wonderglow with your shade of Light Wonder foundation and apply all over your face and neck for a dewy finish. Target any areas of redness, blemishes or dark circles using The Retoucher concealer, by tapping onto your skin. Use Airbrush Flawless Finish powder with Charlotte’s Powder & Sculpt Brush, using only areas that need it, such as down your t-zone and under the eyes.

2 Next, use the Brow Lift eyebrow pencil to comb the hairs upwards revealing their natural shape. Then fill in your brows with tiny strokes in the direction of the hair growth to mimic your natural hair. Use the central highlighter to accentuate and lift your brows, by applying underneath the arch.

3 Get that sultry cat-eye with the Feline Flick eyeliner, by dragging the pen across your upper lashline to a point on the inner corner to elongate the eye. Three quarters of the way across your lashes, stop and make a point on the outer corner of where you want the flick to go. Angle the pen and join these up, thickening the colour for added sexy Rock Chick drama. Take care to ensure the flicks are symmetrical on either side. Next, line the waterline with Rock ‘n’ Kohl in Bedroom Black joining with your flick on the outer corner. To neaten up your feline flick, always keep a cotton bud with Magic Cream moisturiser so you can tidy up any smudges!

4 Using your Luxury Palette eyeshadow in The Rock Chick, apply the Prime shade to the entire eye lid using the Eye Blender Brush. Widen your eyes by applying the same shade to the inner corners of your eyelids. Next, nestle the Enhance shade into the crease of your socket and with the Blender Brush sweep the colour back and forth using a windscreen wiper motion. Use the Eye Smudger Brush to apply the Enhance shade along the upper and lower lash line. For an intense gaze, apply the Smoke shade back and forth from the outer corner of the eye, into the socket and along the upper lashline. Using your ring finger, apply the Pop shade to the centre of your eyelid, for added rock chick glam.

5 Apply lashings of Full Fat Lashes mascara, elongating the eye by using the wand at an angle, dragging the corner lashes outwards. For the bottom lashes, turn the wand vertically and use the tapered end to coat each lash.

6 Use a sharpened Lip Cheat lip liner in Iconic Nude to line your lips, starting from the outer corner of your top lip just outside the natural lip line. This will help cheat a fuller pout and give perfect symmetry to the lips.

7 K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Nude Kate is the ULTIMATE Rock Chick lipstick shade that you can apply both straight from the bullet or using the Lip Brush. As the brush is squared off it helps give precision on the outer corners and a perfectly angled cupid’s bow. Get a gorgeously glossy sheen using the Lip Lustre lipgloss in Blondie.

8 Use the Filmstar Bronze & Glow bronzer & highlighter duo to create killer cheekbones. Using the Sculpt shade and the Bronzer Brush in large circular motions, dust along the cheeks, across the bridge of the nose and on the corners of your forehead, where the sun usually hits you. Suck in your cheeks and follow the hollow with the Powder & Sculpt Brush, bringing the brush down to define the jawline. Use the highlighter on top of the cheekbones, down the nose and lightly across the lips.

9 Take your Blusher Brush to the outside shade of your Cheek to Chic blusher in First Love and SWISH the colour in big circular motions along the cheekbones. Then, POP the middle shade on the apple of your cheeks to enhance the colour and give you that first love glow.
