Bristol Fashion Week SS17 trend report: Minimalism

Bristol Fashion Week SS17 trend report: Minimalism

Timeless Fashion

In contrast to some of the more OTT trends this season which will inevitably be more transient, Minimalism revolves around solid, classic investment pieces you’ll wear time and time again. Minimalist fashion isn’t a new concept, ever since Phoebe Philo took over at Celine, her pared-back, timeless aesthetic has become a mainstay of the catwalks with designers updating the look with subtle adjustments each season. The SS17 take on the trend sees a new focus on pale pastel palettes with ultra-luxe fabrics and oversize lengths.

Take it in your stride

Trousers, £89, Coast

High waisted, wide leg trousers are a must for this look. Coast lead the pack with this timeless pair in the season's essential pale pink palette. Team with luxe knits and oversize shirting for an up to the minute take on this classic piece.

Supersize it

Shirt, Modern Rarity @ John Lewis, £120

Show your fashion credentials this season with oversized lengths and detailing. Extended sleeves are how the fash pack will do it but for a more wearable approach look to a supersized bow or lengthened hemline. Head to Modern Rarity at John Lewis- it's a one stop shop for all things minimalist!

Bag it up

Bag, Topshop, £25

Accessories are a great place to start with this trend. Look for luxurious finishes, clean lines and pale shades. Topshop nail it perfectly with their modern take on a timeless classic.
