Take a trip to Tortilla!Tortilla has recently opened at The Mall, and if you’ve never visited this Cali-Mex restaurant before, you might not know what to expect! Here we take a closer look at this tasty eatery.
Founded in London in 2007 by Brandon & Jen Stephens, the business plan for Tortilla was written at London Business School, where Brandon pursued his MBA after the couple moved to London from California in 2003. 4 years later they opened their first store in Islington, London.
Whilst you might have heard of the idea of Tex Mex before, Tortilla offers something very different – Cali-Mex. Californian-Mexican is actually a healthier alternative, utilizing whole black and pinto beans – there’s no refried foods here! Dishes are made fresh daily and there are no frozen products used.
The restaurant at The Mall has over 55 covers, and uses key elements in its design from the signature Corona beer bottle chandeliers to reclaimed wood tables & beer cages. You’ll see the Red Tiles & exposed steel which represents the San Francisco bridge in California, our fresh produce Bushel Boxes and our useful ‘how to eat your burrito’ posters decorate the walls.
