Going to Paris was very important for me, it was the fantastic architecture, sights and sounds that made me aspire to be a designer. It was also the Parisian way of living that made me understand how life style is so important to look at while designing clothes.

Career Ambitions

I would like to finish my education in Wales then head to London. London has a buzz to it, never sleeping and teaming with inspiration. I would love to start working with fashion houses such as River Island, Jasper Conran or Stella McCartney. After gaining vital experience I would love to eventually set up my own business under my name and hopefully have stock lists all over the world.

An everyday person, irrespective of size or colour, however I always use myself while designing and my designs reflect who I am.

What would I spend the prize money on…

My final collection as I believe it to be an investment in my future career. I want my collection to be the best and reflect my full potential.

When I have completed my National Diploma I hope to go to university to do a degree in textiles and maybe go onto designing accessories.

Travelling and seeing other cultures, see how they make their textiles and use them in my garments. I would love to have a fabric collection from around the world. I do hope eventually to set up my own business designing and selling my ideas.

What would I spend the prize money on…

Purchasing a new sewing machine and an embellishing machine (needle punch) would enhance my work and allow me also to paint with fibres instead of a paint brush.

Warehouse, Oasis and River Island. I love Ossie Clark's designs and his wife's textiles as they are very free. I am also inspired by Van Gogh's work as he is very passionate.

Interests/influences

My fashion interests are very diverse and include fundamentals of fabrics, weave, knit, print and how these can be manipulated, as well as deconstruction and embellishment. Contradiction shave recently interested me, grunge glamour and decadent trash for example.

Career Ambitions

I would like to study fashion textiles at university and have the opportunity to develop knowledge of the subject and chance to take part in work experience. I would like to do what I can to ensure people benefit from production and to ensure fair trade for all involved.
